Machine polishing works on the existing paint finish. The aim is to refine suitable defects and improve how the surface reflects light, with the achievable result depending on the paint’s condition and the depth of the marks.

What the machine-polishing service includes
Exterior preparation
The exterior receives a deep-clean wash followed by tar and iron fallout removal. Clay treatment is included where required to address remaining bonded contamination before polishing.
Paint inspection and polishing
Paintwork is inspected and machine polished to improve suitable defects. The condition of the finish sets the limits: the target is an appropriate improvement for the vehicle, rather than a fixed percentage of correction promised before inspection.
Final inspection and protection
The paint receives a panel wipe-down and result inspection, followed by spray ceramic wax. This provides the included protective finish after polishing.

Understand which defects need repair
Polishing cannot replace missing paint, fill a stone chip or straighten a dent. Deep scratches, failing paint and other damage beyond the safely polishable finish may need repair instead.
An abrasive polishing process removes a small amount of the finish as it refines defects. That makes the condition of the paint more important than pursuing every last mark. A photograph is useful for an initial discussion, but it cannot establish every detail of paint condition or scratch depth.
Adding ceramic protection after polishing
If you want a dedicated Ceramic Coating, discuss it alongside the polishing enquiry. Improving visible defects first gives the coating a better-looking surface to protect.
The spray ceramic wax included with machine polishing and the separate ceramic-coating service are different offers. Ask for a combined quote if you want both paint correction and a coating, so the preparation and final protection are considered together.
Machine-polishing FAQs
Will every scratch disappear?
No. Suitable light defects can be improved, but deeper damage may remain. A mark’s appearance in a photograph, or whether it catches a fingernail, is not enough on its own to guarantee what polishing will achieve.
How is polishing different from a Deep Clean?
A Deep Clean removes dirt and suitable contamination inside and outside the car. Machine polishing adds abrasive work to improve defects in the paint finish. Choose according to whether the problem is contamination or the condition of the paint itself.
Does this include a multi-stage correction?
The service includes machine polishing, but the amount of correction work needed depends on the vehicle. Describe the result you want when requesting a quote, and check the proposed scope rather than assuming a particular number of stages is included.
Is ceramic coating included in the price?
The £250–£450 service includes spray ceramic wax. The dedicated ceramic-coating service is separate and should be discussed as part of your quote if you want that protection applied after polishing.
How long does machine polishing take?
Allow approximately 6–8 hours for single-stage work. More extensive correction can take longer. The required time depends on the vehicle and the work needed to achieve an appropriate result. Confirm the time with your assessment, especially if you need the vehicle back for a particular journey or date.
How long will the improvement last?
A defect that has been corrected does not return simply because the protective finish wears away. New marks can still be introduced through later washing and use, so the result benefits from careful ongoing care.
Can I book a wrapped, matte or recently repainted vehicle?
Tell us about the finish before booking. Conventional paint polishing is not an automatic choice for every surface, and repaired or specialist finishes need assessment before any abrasive work is agreed.
